Los Alamitos Dominates Narbonne 49-6
Los Alamitos – Los Alamitos Stadium
Los Alamitos (2-0) dominated on both sides of the ball in their 49-6 victory over Narbonne on Friday night, securing their second straight win of the season. Coming off a 71-0 blowout against Western, the Griffins were slow out of the gate but quickly found their rhythm in the second quarter.
After a scoreless first quarter, Los Alamitos’ defense and special teams gave their offense the break they needed. The Griffins capitalized on a muffed punt by Narbonne, setting up a short scoring drive finished by a 3-yard touchdown run from Junior running back Jerod Terry. Minutes later, a bad punt snap by Narbonne gave the Griffins excellent field position at the 19-yard line, and Terry punched in his second touchdown from a yard out to extend the lead.
Junior running back Lenny Ibarra created the play of the night with a 90-yard touchdown run, taking advantage of key blocks from his offensive line to give the Griffins an overpowering 21-0 lead. “That TD goes to my O-line,” Ibarra said. “They always have my back.”
Terry added a 34-yard touchdown on the final play of the first half, sending Los Alamitos into halftime with a 28-0 lead.
The Griffins’ defense locked Narbonne up throughout the game, recording six tackles for loss and two sacks. A forced fumble in the third quarter, returned 23 yards by Senior linebacker Hunter Tago, set up another Los Alamitos score. While the shutout was broken late in the game by a 41-yard touchdown pass from Narbonne quarterback and Oklahoma commit Jaden O’Neal, Los Alamitos was in full control throughout.
With back-to-back dominant wins, the Griffins are absolutely a team to watch this season as they continue to conquer schools.
