Los Alamitos Wins 35-14 on the Road Against Clovis North
Fresno – Lamonica Stadium
Los Alamitos continued their winning ways with a dominant 35-14 victory over Clovis North on Saturday, improving to 4-1 on the season. Playing on the road in Fresno, the Griffins showcased both offensive firepower and defensive resilience in a well-rounded performance.
Los Alamitos struck early with a 7-0 lead thanks to a 16-yard touchdown run from Senior running back Arion Lang. After Clovis North tied the game, Senior quarterback Alonzo Esparza responded with a 50-yard bomb to Lang, giving the Griffins a 14-7 lead. The defense then added a pick-six from Senior linebacker Jackson Raguse, extending the lead to 21-7.
Clovis North tried to stay in the game, but a blocked field goal and relentless pressure from Los Alamitos’ defense stalled their momentum. Esparza kept the offense moving, connecting with Junior tight end Beckham Hofland on key plays, while Junior running back Jerod Terry Jr. capped off a strong second quarter with a touchdown run, sending Los Alamitos into halftime with a 28-14 lead.
The Griffins’ defense stood tall in the second half, denying Clovis North any chance to close the gap. Esparza later sealed the game with a short rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter, making it 35-14.
With the win, Los Alamitos looks sharp heading into league play, where they are set to take on top competition in the Alpha League.
