Another Win For Huntington Beach Over El Dorado, 49-28 (2024)
Huntington Beach – ‘Cap’ Sheue Field
A genuine resurrection from last week’s game in which Crean Lutheran cooked the Oilers to completion 38-14. But on Halloween night, Huntington showed up and showed out. Passing for 332 completed yards, QB BradyEdmunds went cosmic from the first drive, with a 55-yard completion to Gabe Bryant for a touchdown.
Oilers had a vice grip on El Dorado at the half 29-7, though El Dorado found some wiggle room when QB Luke Coulter completed a 50-yard pass to receiver Emmanuel Puertas for another touchdown making it 29-14.
Huntington did not back off, on the contrary, Micah Riola broke free for another rushing touchdown extending the lead to 35. An immediate answer from El Dorado brought the score to 35-21. That is until Edmunds threw another 40-yard bomb to Niko Lopez for six. Oilers 42, Golden Hawks 21.
In the fourth quarter, both teams managed another scoring opportunity, Golden Hawks J.P. Murray with a 10-yard rushing touchdown pushing them up to 28. But by then the damage had already eroded through. Huntington Beach running-back Charles Stubin laid the final blow with a 12-yard rushing touchdown clipping El Dorado’s wings (49-28).
