Los Alamitos Meets Expectations Against Bakersfield (2021)
Los Alamitos – Los Alamitos Stadium
Los Alamitos defeated Bakersfield by a score of 65-19 in the first edition of Griffins football in the 2021 fall season. The game was played at Los Alamitos High School (usually that’s not where the varsity plays as there is not a stadium on campus).
Rated the sixth best high school football team in California by MaxPreps, Los Alamitos comes into the Fall 2021 season with big expectations. The Griffins did not disappoint, outscoring their opponent by 46 points in an absolutely dominant offensive display.
Oklahoma commit Malachi Nelson threw 4 touchdown passes including one to five-star WR and fellow Oklahoma commit Makai Lemmon, who also returned a kick-off for six points. Senior running back Brian Jurado also got in on the fun, scoring the team’s first points of the year with a rushing TD in the first quarter.
It is not a shock to see this type of production out of the Griffin’s offense, as the star-studded team is expected to have one of the best years in school history. Los Al’s 6’3 180 lb QB threw for close to 1,500 yards and 23 TDs as a sophomore in the Griffin’s undefeated run last spring (6-0).
