Edison Dominates Helix for a Record Breaking Victory, 42-14 (2024)

Westminster – Boswell Field

Edison delivered a commanding 42-14 victory over Helix on Friday, avenging their close 38-34 loss from August 2023.

The Chargers were in complete control, fueled by an outstanding performance from star Senior running back Julius Gillick. Gillick rushed for 224 yards and an incredible six touchdowns, averaging 12.4 yards per carry. His performance continues to highlight his importance to the team, as he now claims an impressive average of 2.4 rushing touchdowns per game.

Edison’s defense also stepped up, shutting down Helix after a competitive first half. This win marks Edison’s seventh consecutive home victory, a streak dating back to last season. The Chargers have been consistently strong on offense, posting at least 31 points in their last four games, and their powerful attack once again proved too much for Helix to handle.

With the victory, Edison pushed their record to 5-2, while Helix dropped to 2-4 after their second loss in a row. Edison will now gain some extra preparation time before their next challenge, as they face Los Alamitos on October 18th. Riding a wave of momentum and home-field success, the Chargers are looking to continue their winning ways.
