In the sixth inning, Newport Harbor added insurance runs. Elijajah Haseth’s RBI single brought home Michael Vassilev, followed by Parker Chavez’s RBI single to right, extending the lead to 4-0.

CdM threatened in the fifth inning with a double by William Chiechi, but the Sailors’ defense held strong, throwing out a runner at home to protect the shutout. In the seventh, Guy continued his dominant outing, striking out one more batter before Ryan Williams secured the final out with a ground ball to first.
