Redondo Union Reunites With Victory Over HB Oilers, 21-0
Redondo Beach – Redondo Union High School Football Field
Friday the 13th, dubbed the “unlucky day,” had its effects bewitched onto the Huntington Beach Oilers resulting in frustration and ultimately defeat. Unable to score and unable to stop the Sea Hawks from scoring, a feeling the Oilers have left many teams with before had come to collect.
Huntington quarterback Brady Edmunds on average passes for about 305 -yards a game, facing the Sea Hawks defense, Edmonds was kept to just 178 passing yards and was sacked five times. Thanks to “ice block defense,” Redondo prevented every endzone attempt (3) by the Oilers.
On offense, they established the run game and committed to it. Runningback Ethan Maleman spearheaded the rushing yards with 107 total and blessed the Sea Hawks with 6 points.
In the air, both receivers Cadence Turner and Bo Ausmus contributed their hands for points with touchdown catches leaving the score at 21-0. Sea Hawk quarterback Niko London completed 9/14 passes, only 107-yards total but it was more than enough to shut out the competition.
Redondo Union’s defense when it came to the redzone was a masterclass.
At least 3 different times the Oilers got the ball inside the 6-yard line, but were met only by the unyeilding Sea Hawk D-line.
Huntington Beach hasn’t been defeated without scoring since the 2019 season game against Western High School losing 14-0.
