Los Alamitos Griffins Fall 2021 Football Team Photo

Head Coach: Ray Fenton

Coach Fenton is entering his sixth season as head coach of the Los Alamitos Griffins. The 2021 season marks Coach Fenton’s 25th year as a head football coach. His impressive resume includes a CIF championship with Cypress High School in 2007, when he also won California state coach of the year. Prior to coming to Los Al, Coach Fenton spent three seasons as the head coach at Fountain Valley High School. Fenton took reins of the Los Alamitos program in 2016, succeeding legendary head coach of 37 years, Coach John Barnes.

Coach Fenton is a graduate of Cypress High School where he played football and also ran track.

Can’t Miss Game:

10/8/2021 Los Alamitos vs. Edison (Memorial Stadium at Westminster High School)

We really don’t expect anyone to beat the Griffins this year, but if anyone can do it, it might be the Chargers. Edison was the only team that kept the game close last year and will be looking to avenge their seven-point loss. This game will most likely settle the Sunset League title.

Outlook:

The Los Al Griffins enter the 2021 season with expectations as high as any team in the state. They have unfinished
business from the Spring 2021 season after dominating the competition, going 6-0, and not getting a chance to test their skills in the playoffs against other elite teams. The Griffins return a majority of their starters from last season and plan to pick up right where they left off in the Spring.
